What Size HVAC System Should I Have

Choosing the central AC system for installation for your house’s HVAC is not straightforward. There are several physical factors pertaining to your house’s cooling that could directly influence the efficiency, performance quality, and costs of the air conditioning system. You should also look into the different air conditioning system varieties available, taking into account their efficiency, size, and installation needs.

The Cooling Cycle

Central ACs use a condenser coil and compressor housed in an external unit, and an evaporator and expansion valve mounted over the furnace heater within the HVAC system of your home. Air conditioning basically works by converting gas to liquid and reversing the process with the help of pressure. The refrigerant gets started with this cycle as a low-temperature, low-pressure gas. It moves into the external unit where it is initially compressed into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas. Then it steps into the coil where the gas is cooled by the fan to take shape of a high-pressure liquid. The refrigerant in the liquid form flows via the tubing inside the house to the HVAC system. It there enters the valve for expansion that restricts the liquid flow while entering the evaporator. The valve allows the liquid to expand within the coil.

The refrigerant later goes back to the external unit in the form of a low-pressure, low-temperature gas to restart the cycle. The air is cooled via exposure to the chilled coil, and is later circulated across the home. The air conditioning system runs continuously until it hits the desired temperature. Any form of humidity in the air condenses and embraces the coil in the form of water and dribbles into a distillation pan. This is how the central AC system both dehumidifies and cools your residence.

HVAC System Sizes

The right air conditioner size is key to installing a home cooling setup. Sizing an AC warrants a formal interaction with an expert consultant who’d look into the aspects that effect the house’s cooling.

Since air conditioning can be the most critical and expensive appliances you may own, it’s extremely important to have a trained professional take care of all the technical aspects. If you are looking for a reliable and experienced team of professionals to handle your HVAC needs, give us a call.
